Harris Experience Spring Newsletter 2018
With their peers’ insights from our December alumni event acting as guide and inspiration, our Year 12 HEA cohort kicked off the Spring Term applying for a range of academic enrichment and taster day opportunities at universities across London, and further afield in Oxford and Cambridge. Indeed, a particular highlight for many was the opportunity to shadow a current student at the University of Cambridge reading a degree in a field of related interest. Organised by the Cambridge University Students Union (CUSU), this shadowing scheme brings UK students from state schools without a tradition of entry to Cambridge for three days and, as CUSU put it: ‘gives them a taste of student life at Cambridge, in real time, with real people.’ Understandably, competition for schemes such as this is high, so we ensure a wide spread of opportunities are broadcast to students on a weekly basis to give all students the chance to enhance their subject skills and guide their degree and university choices.
